Campaign Notes #3: Interview in the Oval

I just returned from a delightful 3 hour campaign interview with Laura Robles, a reporter for the NYCity News Service.  We started the interview at Ellie’s Diner on Metropolitan Oval, and then took it outside to the Oval to take advantage of the great weather.

We talked about my life, the neighborhood, the campaign, district issues, and the Green Party,  among other things.  Laura took some photos which she’ll be sending to me.

Even with my rambling and digression, I think I answered all her questions…eventually.

I’ll be ratcheting up the campaign after the distraction of the Dem Primary Election this Tuesday, Sept. 12, is over. I am curious to know who my opponents will be.

Campaign notes, #1 – Lundgren for Council 2017

lfs_posterOn Dec. 21st, the NYS Board of Elections released the final vote count for the 2016 elections. This includes absentee and military ballots. My final total was, 2,686 votes, or 2.5% of all votes cast in the district. I was hoping for at least 2,500, so I’m pleased with the results.

This year I’ll be running for City Council District 18 in the Bronx. I hope to receive an even higher vote total. This is my real home base. It’s where I’ve lived since I was a year old; It’s where I went to school from kindergarten through high school; it’s where I’ve worked most of the jobs I’ve had, including my time as a Paraprofessional with the NYC Dept. of Education.

Yesterday, I filed with the Board of Elections and opened my campaign bank account. Next stop: filing my campaign with the NYC Campaign Finance Board.

Once again, I want to thank the nearly 2,700 voters who chose to buck the mainstream corporate-capitalist parties and vote for the hope and systemic change my campaign represented.
